Nyssa came into rescue after living approx 1.5 years in a guinea pig cage. (photo below)
This little lady went to foster and was loving life with supervised free time in the garden. Sadly due to her previous living conditions, Nyssas bones and muscles where not quite ready and she managed to shatter the bones in her foot, causing a small open fracture. The options were put to sleep or Amputate, well as you can see I chose the Latter option.
Nyssa is an absolute star and has recovered amazingly well. She is getting around perfect on 3 legs. Her op was only a week ago (7th Sept).
Nyssa will still need to be spayed, which i feel so awful about putting her through another operation, but to amputate and spay would of been cruel.
Once this little lady is ready for adoption she will need a certain setup. To help prevent anymore injuries Nyssa will need a shed set up, all on one level with a run attached. She would need to be carried in a pet carrier only,, this is to prevent her falling/jumping from arms (from any height). She is healthy in every other way and is an adorable little thing. She will eventually be moved back outside. She is in my shower to recover as its easier to keep the wound clean.
If you would like to consider Nyssa to bond to a lonely male bun, or you would consider adopting her to be an indoor bun (still needs a friend) please do get in touch.
